Last weekend I was browsing some computer books in the library when I found The D Programming Language by Andrei Alexandrescu. The D programming language is an object-oriented, imperative, multi-paradigm system programming language and is originated as a re-engineering of C++. Nearly one year ago I wrote about Digital Mars wanting to merge the GNU D Compiler into GCC. Finally it looks like merging the compiler for the D programming language is nearing a point of reality. Programming is a very useful and rewarding hobby. Joe Armstrong(of Erlang) while reviewing Elixir(Ruby like language that compiles to Erlang Virtual Machine) states his Three Laws of Programming Language Design. What you get right nobody mentions. €D is a general purpose systems and applications programming language. The language was created by Walter Bright of Digital Mars, Andrei & Alexandrescu (since 2006). D Language was orignally named as 'Mars Programming Language'. Submissions should be in electronic format, via the START site: https://www.softconf.com/d/sac2014/. GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION Paper submissions must be original, unpublished work. There are a few better feelings than when someone sees you using a program you lashed together to make your life easier and says that it looks really useful. It is a higher level language than C++, but retains the ability to write high performance code and interface directly with the operating system API's and with hardware. The trouble is, you'd be hard pressed to mix and match technologies for the applications within your churches and organizations, particularly when it comes to the web-based stuff. New year, new language to learn :) I heard about D some years ago but I forgot about it. Programming Languages Overview.
